Resume GUIDE

Resume profile examples for different career stages

Write the about me section of your CV with concrete experiences. Representative short profile examples for new graduates, experienced and career changing candidates.

QUICK ANSWER

Your profile article combines the most important information about the role you're applying for in a few sentences. Choose your role, your useful experience, and an example that demonstrates this.

Decide what your profile should communicate

A short profile does not replace the rest of your resume. It gives the reader a framework for understanding the experience below. It can explain the connection between different fields or support a career change. If it only repeats information in an already short resume, you do not have to include it.

Before you start writing, note the name of the role you're applying for and your two most relevant skills. Then choose a real task where you used these skills. Each sentence of the resulting text must be linked to at least one of these three notes.

Give context rather than generic adjectives

“Successful, results-oriented professional” could describe many people. Instead, name your field and the kind of work you contribute to. Team size, client type or working methods can make the text concrete when they are accurate and relevant to the application.

If you don't have measurable results, don't make up numbers. The report you regularly prepare, the tracking method you establish, or the project you complete can also explain your experience. Instead of making a bold promise of success in every sentence, link to evidence the reader can see in the following sections.

Profile sample for a new graduate

A newly graduated candidate can combine the field of education with real practice. Do not use the tools and project tasks in the representative text if you do not have them yourself. Instead of just saying "I'm open to learning", it is more descriptive to show what field you want to work in and how you have prepared for it so far.

EXAMPLE TO ADAPT

Representative example: "I have a degree in business administration. In my graduation project, I organized survey data and visualized the findings. I am applying for entry-level marketing roles where I can use my research and reporting skills." This is an example; It should be rewritten according to your actual education and work.

Profile sample for experienced candidate

For an experienced candidate, it is unnecessary to list all the duties in the upper paragraph. Select the area of expertise and scope of work important to your application. If you are going to give year information, make sure that it is compatible with the total of the dates; do not count two jobs held at the same time as twice the experience.

EXAMPLE TO ADAPT

Representative example: "I work in retail operations in the areas of in-store stock tracking and team shift planning. I prepared daily operation records and weekly needs reports. I am interested in positions that focus on monitoring operational processes."

Explain career change with transferable skills

When moving to another field, show your connection to the new role rather than hiding your previous profession. Skills such as customer communication, coordination, data organization or presentation preparation can be used in different areas. Only say that you meet the technical requirements of the new field to the extent that you can actually demonstrate it.

EXAMPLE TO ADAPT

Representative example: "I have experience in request tracking and user communication in customer support processes. I used this experience when planning user flows in the personal interface project I recently completed. I aim to transition to entry-level product support and operations roles."

Correct the text with three questions

Read your draft aloud and ask: “Does this give specific information about me?”, “Is it relevant to the job posting?” and “Does the experience below support it?” Remove vague statements or add concrete details. Avoid turning your profile into a list of keywords.

While preparing your CV in another language, write this section in the same language. Selecting an English title in the tool will not automatically translate the Turkish profile text you enter. Check for verbs that expand the scope of the task and incorrect professional equivalents in the translation; You should be able to explain the text easily during the interview.

Frequently asked questions

Is the profile text and the cover letter the same?

No. The profile provides a brief orientation within the CV. The cover letter can address the specific employer and further explain the reason for applying and relevant experiences.

Can a target salary be written in the About Me section?

The purpose of the short profile is not to explain salary expectations unless specifically requested in the advertisement. Dedicating this area to your experience and skills related to your role is a more understandable start.
