Use a stable, specific address
Choose the page you actually want visitors to see, such as a menu or portfolio. Prefer a working HTTPS address you control or have permission to share. Open the full address first and check spelling, the domain and any unexpected redirects.
A short address often makes a less dense code, but do not remove a path or query parameter required by the page. Avoid links that depend on your signed-in session. Preview the destination on a phone and check that it is useful at a small screen size.
Understand what stays fixed
ToolsCD generates a static code: the address in the downloaded image cannot be edited remotely. The code itself has no expiry timer, but the website can move, close or require access later. Keep the destination available for as long as you distribute the code.
Use strong contrast and leave the blank border around the code intact. Recheck scanning after changing colors, adding a logo or resizing. The tool’s scan check helps assess the image; it cannot promise that an external page will remain available.
Create your code
- Select Website / URL in the QR tool.
- Paste the complete HTTPS destination.
- Open the destination and check its mobile view.
- Download and scan the final image on another device.

Frequently asked questions
Does a static website QR expire?
The encoded address has no built-in expiry, but the destination website or its access rules can change.
Can I change its address later?
Not inside an existing static image. Create a new code for a new URL; content at the same URL may be updated separately.
Does ToolsCD host my website?
No. The QR tool encodes your link; the website remains with its existing hosting provider.
